I used to think I was just imaginative.

As a kid, I’d walk across the dark driveway to my house whispering made-up spells under my breath. One of them—“Severus Protectus”—I crafted after a Harry Potter binge and used it to wrap myself in an invisible forcefield of safety. No wand. No special effects. Just me, my energy, and the belief that I was protected.

At the time, I chalked it up to an overactive imagination. Now I know better.

That wasn’t pretend. That was energy work.

That was the beginning of my relationship with intention, frequency, and sovereignty. I just didn’t have the language for it yet.

So many of us learned early on to mask our power as play. To package our intuition as coincidence. To wrap our energy mastery in “cute” or “quirky” so it wouldn’t threaten anyone.

You’re a transmitter.

And yeah, I used glitter. I used fantasy. I used fiction to find my truth.

But the truth was always there.

We’ve been conditioned to believe cause and effect only exist in the tangible. If you hit your toe with a hammer, it’ll hurt. Duh. But what if the inverse is true too?

What if intention + belief = outcome?

So if you want to cast a spell today, do it.

Make up a word. Draw a sigil. Speak something into your coffee. Create a micro-ritual that tells your nervous system: “I am safe. I am powerful. I am creating my life.”

Because maybe it’s not about becoming magical. Maybe it’s about realizing you always were.
